Kamran Khan in Ranji probables list

Rajasthan Royals seamer Kamran Khan has been named in UPCA's list of 30 probables for the Ranji Trophy.

This is for the first time that Rajasthan Royal seamer Khan has found a place in Uttar Pradesh's list of 30 probable players for the Ranji Trophy. The 19-year old has also been selected for the state's Twenty-20 team probables of 33 players.

Reacting after his name figured in the list, Khan said if he is selected to play for his state in the Ranji Trophy then his dream would come true.

An UPCA official admits that the left-handed bowler came for the trials of Ranji Trophy and other matches earlier but they failed to recognise Khan's talent earlier.

"But it is difficult to ignore Kamran after witnessing his great performance for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL," said the official.

"The list of 30 probables for the state's Ranji Trophy team for the year 2010-2011 has been announced. Names of Ranji regulars like Mohammad Kaif, Suresh Raina, R P Singh, Piyush Chawla and Sudeep Tyagi are in the list, while new players have also been given a chance," UPCA's Joint Secretary P D Pathak told PTI on Monday.

However Pathak said this is the first time Azamgarh native Khan's has been name has been included in the list of probable.

"Khan's name has also been included in Sayyid Mushtaq Ali Twenty-20 Trophy 2010-11 list of 33 probable players," Pathak added.

When asked whether there is a chance for Khan to be selected in the final team for Ranji Trophy and Twenty-20 Cup, Pathak said the final decision will be taken by the selection committee.

If the selection panel believes Khan's performance is good then he will be definitely in the team, Pathak said.
